Tertahydrocannabinol – this is what THC means. THC is the same substance found in marijuana. Marijuana is considered as a medicinal plant but it can be very addictive too. THC is marijuana’s active ingredient. Smokers retain this substance inside their system whenever they ingest, use, or smoke marijuana. It is the main substance that gives the plant its euphoric capabilities.

Marijuana is legal in some areas. In fact, many groups and individuals believe that marijuana is just as harmful as tobacco and alcohol – and both of them are legal. Given this fact, the government somehow fails to hear the pleas of concerned citizens to fully ban the cultivation and use of such plant. In certain places, marijuana can be grown freely. It can be cultivated inside one’s backyard both for medicinal uses and ornamental purposes.

The effect of THC in a person can be very derogatory. For starters, it can negatively affect one’s memory retention. THC can reduce your ability to learn as the substance interferes with your brain’s functions. And if taken in dangerous amounts, THC can bring about delirium, confusion, and anxiety. THC is usually absorbed into the person’s liver and fatty tissues. And it stays there for an extended period of time. The traces of THC can be detected in one’s urine. This is the reason why drug tests involve urinalysis.

Only detox can successfully remove THC from your body. The procedure may be long and tedious for those who are deeply addicted to marijuana or have been using it for a long period of time. What’s more, THC should be carefully removed from the body. Abrupt removal may cause withdrawal symptoms that are just as dangerous. The withdrawal symptoms can even be fatal to some people.

THC detox can only be carried out inside accredited rehabilitation centers or health centers. Health experts are tasked to diagnose the patient admitted in their ward. They need to determine the extent and the projected amount of THC present inside the person for the right procedures to be carried out. This is a very crucial step, because the wrong assessment may lead to the development of the withdrawal symptoms.

If you are not using marijuana regularly but would like to cleanse your body of the possible remnants of the substance, you can try to use THC detox pills that can be bought at special health stores. However, these pills are not supposed to be taken without the guidance of a doctor. Whether or not you’re addicted to marijuana, you are could suffer from withdrawal symptoms if you are not careful. And this is the hardest part in a detoxification process.

THC detox can be very challenging. THC is a toxin of the nerves. It damages the brain’s cells and works similar to a virus. These are the reason why taking this harmful substance out of the body is very important. If you keep it inside you longer, you might suffer severe health consequences in the future. Pursue THC detox and come clean

Oral fluid drug tests have provided employers and employees with a more dignified, and safer, method of checking for drug use. Thanks to advances in technology, we have a safer and accurate method of checking for drugs in the workplace, particularly at short notice and in almost any workplace setting. Previously, urine samples would be required and this was not a time or cost efficient method due to the time constraints of collecting and sending samples, refrigeration and packing of the samples and the cost of the sample kits themselves. Then there was also the fact that some samples were difficult, if not impossible to collect, and the only alternative was to wait it out, this has been classified as the “bashful bladder syndrome”. Urine sample collection also was a time of awkwardness and embarrassment as well as outright mortification for some. And every employee would have to cooperate. Employers had to have restroom facilities available for the duration of the testing procedures or have the employees go off-site for additional testing which would always necessitate a higher cost to both employee and employer as then you would have to factor in another transportation cost. In addition, the privacy of the employees was non-existent, due to the nature of the test. Oral drug tests are able to provide quick and reliable results and have proven to be quite cost efficient. The cost of the kits is even cheaper than those for urine collection.

The drugs which can be tested for include THC, cocaine and heroin, alcohol, Ecstasy, barbiturates and amphetamines. These oral fluid collection tests may actually be superior at determining opiate usage than the urine test. This is the only test that shows whether a person is under the influence of a drug that he has just taken. This type of testing also has the added feature of being able to ascertain drug usage within the last 6 hours, something other tests could not do. The only single preparation a testee needs is to refrain from any eating and drinking for at least 1 hour prior to having the oral swab taken. Most employees prefer this test as it involves merely a swab between the cheek and lower gum which allows oral saliva to be collected onto the cotton padding of the swab. These tests can be used in any remote job locations. Employers can always choose to hire someone on the spot, thanks to the efficiency and accuracy of these tests, if they wish. There do not have to be any restroom facilities available at the test site. No private rooms are ever needed and no private monitor is necessary to document the authenticity of the oral saliva collection procedure. There are some of these oral fluid collection test kits which will allow the testing of multiple people at one time. Technology, time management and cost effectiveness rolled up into one efficient kit. These tests are also available for home use.

The reliability and accuracy of these tests are in the 98-99% range and they are quite easy to read by those who are charged with administering and documenting the tests. No longer is there any worry about being splashed with bodily fluids and there is no cleaner method available for collecting a body fluid specimen. The employee is able to maintain his composure and dignity during the entire testing procedure and he does not feel violated, as many did under the constant observation during the urine tests. One of the better features of this test is the ability to isolate any of the target drugs that have just been taken. In the past, there were many stories about people that would actually take urine tests while high and yet the urine test would be clean because the drug was too new within the body to show up. With the use of the urine collection tests, the collection could only be done after the drugs had sufficient time to metabolize in the body. It was only after the drug metabolization had begun and the body had begun to excrete that the older tests were able to isolate traces of them. This is not the case any longer thanks to the advent of the new oral fluid collection technology. There is no loss of man hours due to waiting for the completion of a test or to get the results, it takes only a minute ,or so ,to do an oral test, and 10 minutes to see the results. There is no way of adulterating, falsifying or confusing this test. For many employers it is a wonderful innovation, for which there truly was a need.

Oral fluid tests can sometimes be hampered by a lack of oral saliva, and recent food or drink that has been ingested can also have an effect on the drug quantification. But these are quite small negatives. These tests are only geared, unfortunately, for the major types of abused drugs: opiates, cocaine and heroin, barbituates, alcohol and THC. They can only tell recent drug use. Which is one reason, their scope includes the more prevalent, illegal drugs, and the tests can not give any indications of any past drug histories. These tests can and do clearly show how greatly improved today’s drug testing method truly is.

Although the number of drugs that an oral fluids test can check for is relatively small, this one small negative is offset by the numerous positive factors that oral fluid collecting kits have brought to the table. In the past, the procedures surrounding a urine drug screen did often cause humiliation and anger or resentment. An oral test manages to get the job done and over with almost as soon as the person can blink. And any employer would far rather know if an employee is actually using drugs at work, as opposed to knowing that an employee had drank some beer at his home during his time off. This test makes a great deal sense when it is applied and used in a proper setting. These tests may soon become the gold standard in the majority of workplace settings, particularly in settings where it is imperative that the employees are sober and alert, such as in the trucking or heavy machinery fields.

Saliva or Oral Fluid is gaining popularity as the test media of choice due to it’s 1:1 ratio of blood drug concentrations. This is possible for saliva is termed as a refined version of plasma that has the capability to bear trace amounts of drugs and their resulting metabolites that can be easily tested through immunoassaying. Results can be obtainable in as little as 5 to 15 minutes allowing fast results and thus interpretation.Saliva or Oral Fluid drug testing kitscome in many forms and shapes, the most common come in kits that the individual being tested places in the mouth and saliva is obtained through a membrane that allows it to wet strips of media with indicator antigen-dye’s. Positive results would show color bands for each of the specific drugs in question. They are convenient and mostly used as pre-employment drug testing which allows no-fuss and immediate results. Adulteration is very hard if not totally impossible and come in multi-drug or drug specific test kits and is more un-invasive than other methods of drug testing.

Products from Medimpex United Inc.Like Multi Screen Saliva drug Test screen 5 are convenient and low-cost allowing pre-employment screening in a short period as opposed to laboratory testing that consumes time and resources. It can detect the “Golden Rule” drugs that are also called NIDA-5 or the five substances that are covered by mandatory screening for both federal and private corporations. These substances are Opiates/Morphine, Cannabinoids (marijuana), Cocaine (crack), Methamphetamine and Phencyclidines. Being low cost (under $12.00) it is perfect for use in immediate cases where testing is required such as accident investigation where the effects of drugs are suspected to be the cause, pre-employment, and employee monitoring.

Another product,Saliva Multi Drug Screen Test kit is an expanded version of the first one and is capable of detecting 6 drugs that uses one step chromatograph immunoassaying that can detect Amphetamines, Opiates, Phencyclidine, THC, Methamphetamine, Cocaine and other metabolites or drug by-products in saliva. It is also affordable and has a low footprint making disposal easier as opposed to urine test kits which tend to be bulkier and tend to be more delicate to deal with.

OraLert, another of their products is also capable of detecting Amphetamines, Opiates, Phencyclidine, THC, Methamphetamine, Cocaine and other metabolites or drug by-products in saliva with lower sensitivity to THC the active ingredient of Marijuana. Being the most abused drug in America accounting for 30% of total drugs abused in the country making it a necessary choice in testing for THC. Being priced higher at $13.50 it is still quite cheap compared with other competing products on the market.

They also carry Oral Fluid 6 Multi Drug Screen Test kits for laboratory examination on samples that produce non-negative results. They include instructions on how to handle and send the sample to a laboratory for further analysis. A test cap that is secured with a provided security seal and a chain of custody form that is essential for total accountability of the test sample as it is sent for testing. They are all then inserted into a padded mailer bag that is then sent to the laboratory for further screening more detailed metabolite identification.

The last test kit is similar to the second kit that can detect Amphetamines, Opiates, Phencyclidine, THC, Methamphetamine, Cocaine and other metabolites. Pricing starts at almost $13.00 which when ordered in bulk, has the price dropping by increments. Saliva drug testing has benefits of on-site collection within plain view of the subject. There is minimal risk of adulteration, totally non-invasive and samples can be collected anywhere(the field, office, etc.)

Compared with most products on-line which are priced higher at $15.00 or more for the rapid test types the products mentioned above are quite similar and even better than some. Disadvantages include less sensitivity to marijuana and that being part of the body’s metabolism mechanism, drugs don’t stay in the system for long with only a 10 to 24 hour effective sampling time. Unlike hair drug tests which can produce historical information not only with they types of drugs but the quantity and frequency as well. For hair as it grows at a predictable rate metabolites become trapped within the follicles allowing accurate detection.

The drugs are then expelled by the body through urine with minute residue or metabolites to give an accurate reading. Several measures to defeat the tests have been observed such as eating foods that would alter the production of saliva and smoking which tends to mask the needed metabolites for detection. In these cases, urine is used for testing which tends to be more plentiful and copious quantities can be obtained through induced bladder excretion. Other specialist test kits are available for detecting Marijuana which tends to be weak in multi-panel test kits. But the cost for testing for a single substance rather than multiple-testing would be detrimental but could be essential and unavoidable. Although gaining popularity within the private sector, these types of tests are not generally accepted as a valid test tool for urine is their media of choice. With urine, mostly dip type multi panel test kits are used which tend to cost a lot more than saliva test kits we have mentioned above.

Federal Drug testing is more rigorous and tends to be more tedious but private sector companies should be aware that although unregulated they are still covered by laws concerning privacy and discrimination issues. These tests cannot be demanded without probable cause and can be banned altogether by unions who target these detection measures in their Collective Bargaining Agreements. The Mandatory clause is for federal agencies only and does not cover companies that are not under government management. Companies are also to follow rules that apply to these tests as listed under the Department of Labor’s codes. If used in the home, training might be required by law for application in the school environment, though non-invasive consent is required for those below 18 years of age. And the proper representatives are required along with the necessary confidentiality policies.
